Protect Planted Trees

There are several kinds of tree protection tools available. This quick chart will help you pick the right one for your trees.

Tree tubes protect and nurture small trees and are the standard for tree protection, especially for trees that lose their leaves. This slideshow shows you how to properly install a tree tube.

Bark protectors are used on slightly larger trees to prevent deer from rubbing their antlers against the tree and damaging the tree’s bark. This slideshow shows you how to properly install a bark protector.

When a tree tube won’t work for whatever reason (especially for shrubs and conifers), a tree cage can be an alternative to keep deer away. This slideshow gives installation tips for tree cages.
