There are 3 deer fencing demonstrations at Ward Pound Ridge. These fences are no longer fully enclosed as the regeneration has been successful enough that the areas are past the biggest threat of deer browse. That makes this site a good example of how a deer exclosure should alter plant composition over time. The first fence is 0.4 miles on the right when entering the park and the second is 0.3 miles further on the right, labeled as “Model Forest Restoration Project.” The final demonstration is closest to entering the ticket booth, which is on the left.
