Leaf Snap (Tree ID app)

This free app is a great resource for beginners looking to learn how to identify trees. You take a picture of a leaf, and the app tells you the tree. We’ve tested it a few times and found it to be surprisingly accurate.

Tree ID “Interview” Key

This is a resource for someone with advanced knowledge in identifying trees. The key asks you sometimes-technical questions like “Is a leaf singly or pinnately compound?” and uses your answers to identify the tree.
