Riparian Restoration and Paddle
WOW is hosting a riparian restoration workshop at Columbia Land Conservancy’s newly established Taghkanic Community Forest. At this event, we’ll learn about the Community Forest and riparian plant identification before kayaking on Lake Lahr to remove invasive water chestnuts and phragmites. We’ll end the morning with a provided lunch.
This event is free to attend thanks to funds from The Nature Conservancy.
Here’s what you need to know:
When: Friday, July 31st from 10am to 1pm. Rain date of Tuesday, August 4th.
Where: Taghkanic Community Forest in Craryville, New York. Parking information will be sent to attendees.
What you should bring: Clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and are comfortable for a summer morning outside, a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and a pen and notebook (optional). Please leave all dogs at home.
