Learn how Hudson Valley indigenous people thrived on these lands and how we can thrive on them today with sustainable agricultural practices. This is a gentle, two-hour long walk through forest, wetland, and field, including a tour of our agroforestry operations and medicinal herb farm. We will explore topics ranging from native plant names to wild-simulated native herb cultivation. Don't forget to wear comfortable walking shoes!
Check-in by 10:00 AM at the parking area near the greenhouse at Abandoned Airport Rd, Cairo NY 12413. Abandoned Airport Rd is our driveway, and sometimes the GPS doesn't recognize it. If so, navigate to 501 Bross Street and look for our gravel driveway on the left hand side.
This event is hosted by Wild Hudson Valley. Wild Hudson Valley was founded in 2013 to teach about the rich history and environment of the region in a fresh, new way. Our walks, workshops, forest farmed products, and camping bring the past into the present and inspire others to become stewards of our planet.
