I take a lot of walks in the woods, and I'm always curious about which birds I'm hearing. Anyone have any tips or recommended resources on getting started in learning your local birds? I'm pretty much a total novice so something simple would be great!

I'm not very good with bird calls either, but I've found the Bird-ID App in the Watch, Listen, Learn activity to be helpful, and also the link to the Macauley Library at the bottom of Nocturnal Animal Sounds.

Great advice. I don't have a smart phone, so the app is out for me. But I'll definitely check out the Macaulay link!
